Setting up Phase with Rekordbox

This quick setup tutorial provides detailed instructions on how to get your DJ equipment ready to use with Phase and Rekordbox

Requirements 

• Phase up to date with the Firmware 9
• Any version of Rekordbox
• A DVS mixer or compatible DVS soundcard
• Unlocked DVS mode in Rekordbox (by hardware unlock or by subscribing to Rekordbox "Core" plan or above)

Detailed steps

1. Connect your DVS mixer to your laptop.

2. Connect your Phase to a power supply (5V) or your laptop using a USB cable

3. Connect the Phase Receiver to the "Line" inputs of your mixer (or DVS soundcard) via RCA

4. Switch the Deck source selector on on your mixer on USB (A or B) to enable DVS Mode.

5. In the Phase Manager "Setup" tab, set the Phase DVS signal to "Rekordbox"

6. Open Rekordbox on your laptop, then, open the setting utility and set the inputs you are using to “Control Tone Line”. You should also double check the same settings apply to the input channels you are using in the Rekordbox “Input Channels” setting.

7. Go to the DVS tab in the Rekordbox settings, and make sure the DVS function is activated. Select “CDJs” instead of “Turntables” in the control hardware tab of the DVS settings.

8. Make sure to select the audio routing according to the mixer decks you are using (1&2, or 2&3), and that the virtual decks are set on “Relative” mode.

9. Take the Remotes out of the Receiver, put them on your turntables and wait for the calibration to complete (allow the LEDs to turn solid).

• Can I use Phase with Rekordbox via HID?

As of now, there is no dedicated HID integration available to use Phase with Traktor Pro directly via USB. We are working on bringing this feature to our Traktor users and are in contact with the Traktor teams. We hope to see this integration live soon. However, we do not have a specific development or delivery date to communicate at this time. Stay tuned for updates!

• Can I use Phase with a controller as a mixer?

• I'm not sure if my setup is compatible with Phase

• Is Phase compatible with other DJ softwares (Virtual DJ, Traktor Pro etc...)?
